Background

I started originating VA loans in Alaska in the mid-2000s — before a lot of the platforms that now promise “Alaska VA experts” had a single originator in the state. The work taught me things you can't learn from a manual: how frozen-ground appraisals actually get structured, how BAH tiers interact with Mat-Su pricing, how to run a sight-unseen purchase for a family still at Fort Campbell and make sure they own the right house.

Most of my clients come to me mid-PCS cycle — orders in hand, questions already piling up. That's by design. I built this site to answer the questions before you ask them, so the time we spend together is on your specific file, not the general education.

I'm licensed in nine states and close loans across all of them, but Alaska is where I live and where my production is concentrated. JBER, Eielson, Fort Wainwright — I know the commute rings, the inspection patterns, the local agents who work well with VA buyers, and the ones who don't. That context isn't something you get from a rate aggregator.

I originate through Cardinal Financial Company, L.P. (NMLS #66247), a direct lender with in-house underwriting and a VA product line that covers purchases, IRRRLs, cash-out refinances, and high-balance loans up to Alaska's 2026 conforming limit.
